About this Event
Feminist Movie Monday’s ‘Not going out’ season (October to December)
Join us for films and fun times in The Gregson’s Secret Cinema room.
On each night in the season, we’ll intro the screenings with a short feminist framing of the film or one of its themes, watch together, chat about the movie and offer optional parallel activities to delight and entertain.
In October we’re inviting you to bring your poison (aka your preferred emotional support snack or drink for when you’re feeling spooked out) for our snack-along Feminist Movie Monday.
Join us as we approach All Hallows Eve and attend to the thirst for a spooky vibe with this film examining the darker side of life.
Following an intro, we will screen a 2018 film based on Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name. Replete with poisoned mealtime storyline, we encourage you to consume your own (safe!) comfort snack to soothe the scare.
The event is free to attend but if you would like to contribute a cash donation towards the running costs of Feminist Movie Monday there will be an opportunity on the night. We ask everyone in attendance to respect one another, the organisers, and the Gregson Centre volunteers.
