OctoberFast 202427-Mile San Diego Pacific Coast Sprint Relay Swim
-> Three 9-mile relays
Date: Saturday, October 5, 2024
- 9am From Oceanside Pier Northside to Batiquitos
- 9am From Batiquitos to Del Mar Powerhouse
- 9am From Black’s Beach to South Mission Beach
Concept: Each swimmer completes 1 sprint mile “in water” in a tag, you’re it, format. Leadoff swimmer will rough water start, then in-water tags, and final swimmer will land on sand.
27 Members: three teams of 9 (each realys has 3+ lady lead swimmers). Seeding: Submit an estimated (realistic) pool 500 yard swim time, round to 5 sec. Swim Course Selection Priority: fastest 18 (alternating women then men, then 9 remaining. Course: review the 27 segments and their start/end points. ZOOM MEETINGS weekly on TUESDAYS at 7pm.
Support: We all need buddies to swim out with us as we await our in-water exchanges. We all swim back in with those buddies after each tag exchange. We all need to recruit support kayakers & paddlers for all segments. We all need the full swim community to tag along at each station.
