The next Work Party of the SW Invasive Plants Working Group (SWIPWG) is scheduled for Saturday October 4; 9:00 – 12:00 and will coincide with the official opening of the Invasive Plants Education Area.In September the invasive plant removal broke through to Ellington Road visually opening up the stream, bridge and the Invasive Plants Education Area to passing vehicles. The work scheduled for Saturday will be further removal of the invasive plants working up Ellington Road . Hope you can participate as we continue the battle with the resilient invasives.
The ceremony formally opening the Invasive Plants Education Area will take place in the parking lot behind the Town Hall adjacent to the kiosk. All SWIPWG volunteer "alumni" are invited to share in the celebration and to check out the progress made in the Area.
Note change in volunteer meeting location: For October only, please plan on meeting in the Town Hall parking lot where the Town Equipment trailer will be parked. For those new to the SWIPWG, the Town provides the necessary gloves, the pruning/cutting tools, bags for removed plants, and water to support our volunteer activities.
