Hi SeaDevils,We’re excited to invite you to a very special evening at Kardinal Hall on Wednesday, October 8th for an unforgettable presentation about the research and discovery of submerged aircraft wreckage of the famed Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.
This month, we’re honored to be joined by Jay V. Haigler — a registered archaeologist, educator, writer, and scuba diving professional.

He also serves on the International Leadership Team of the Slave Wrecks Project, hosted by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
As the principal investigator for a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) mission in France, Jay leads efforts to search for, identify, and recover World War II soldiers and aircraft missing in action. His passion for science communication has led him to collaborate with National Geographic, PBS, and CBS 60 Minutes, as well as lecture at UCLA, Stanford, UC San Diego’s Scripps Center for Marine Archaeology, and Eckerd College.
Jay is also an AAUS scientific diving instructor and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, bringing a wealth of expertise and inspiration to our community.
