About this Event
The October field trip will be to Titusville to see the Brevard County endemic and state-endangered Dicerandra thinicola, known as Titusville balm.
We will meet at Wuesthoff Park in Titusville at 10am Sat. Oct 12 (directions below) and walk down the Wuesthoff Multi-use Trail to the area of city property where we hope to see the Titusville balm in bloom. This should only be about a one and a quarter mile walk to the area and back, plus any wandering around on the property looking at plants.
Optional lunch following the field trip at Third Culture Kitchen, 1000 Cheney Hwy Titusville, FL 32780 https://www.thirdculturekitchen.com/our-menu/
Titusville balm is restricted to an approximately 30-mile range. It blooms from October through December. For photos of and a description see the Florida Wildflower Foundation website at https://www.flawildflowers.org/flower-friday-dicerandra-thinicola/ .
