October Open Studio!

One day only! The THIS Gallery studio is open to the public!

On October 14, 2023, we will open the back studio to the public for some spontaneous art making using a variety of materials. The studio will be open to the public from noon - 5 pm, with five 50 minute seatings. There is a limit of 10 people per seating.

Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased to reserve a time slot. Time slots will sell out, so book now!

Seating times:

Noon - 12:50 pm

1:00 - 1:50 pm

2:00 - 2:50 pm

3:00 - 3:50 pm

4:00 - 4:50 pm

Over the course of the afternoon, participants will collectively build a new work of art. You will find out more about what that might look like, once you arrive for your appointment. You might be painting, you might be sculpting. At any rate, you'll have 50 minutes to muck around with art materials and make something!

Ooooh…mysterious!

No materials or skills are required to participate. All ages are welcome and encouraged. Limit of 10 participants at one time. Bring your friends. Because we are creating something together as a collective, you won't be able to take your art with you after the workshop. However, if you are interested in keeping your piece, you will be able to come and pick it up at a later date.

IMPORTANT: Start and end times are fixed, so please be prompt. If you arrive early, you will wait in the gallery until your start time. If you arrive late, you will cut into your 50 minute time slot!

We recommend taking public transit, cycling or walking to your appointment. Parking can be an issue in the neighbourhood. Wear something you don’t mind getting dirty as there are a limited number of aprons.

October Open Studios seeks to provide unfettered public access to art materials and the space to create. The goal is to create a salon-style space where conversation about art and art making is encouraged and supported.
