Directions: Located about 7 - 8 blocks north of 24th and Cuming St., just north of Creighton University’s campus
Note: Park on the north side of the building and enter the building through the door on the north side at the top of the steps.
Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month.

October 1st Meeting:
October’s meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.
Program: October's program is going to be a two-part program.
The first part will be an interactive "Hands-on" experience. Guild members will be participating in building items that Habitat for Humanity needs for their home building projects, specifically sawhorses and window well covers.
However, this will be more than just building things. Prior to the build, we will be combining part of Show & Tell with what we will be building. We are asking members to either bring a sawhorse that you built, or else email pictures of your sawhorse. (Email your pictures to: [email protected] )
The topic will be on "Discussing the Design of your sawhorse." Why did you build it the way you did? Was it built for a specific function, or multiple functions, i.e. Is it more like a "Transformer"?! Was it built to knock down for easy transport?
We will take the ideas from the Show & Tell discussion, and incorporate them into what we will be building.
Note that this program and what we will be doing during it will be a big help to Habitat for Humanity. It is giving the Guild a special opportunity to "pay back" for the special gift/favor that we've been given to have our meetings at Habitat for Humanity rent-free. So... this is a big deal, folks.
Habitat will provide all the wood and tools that we will need for building our projects.
The second part of our program will be a Powerpoint presentation by Guild member, Gene Kathol on the Crozier that he built for Omaha's Archbishop.
A crozier (or crosier) is an ecclesiastical staff carried by bishops and abbots as a symbol of office. It resembles a shepherd's crook and dates back to the 7th century. The diocesan bishop carries it in their left hand, with the crook facing outward.
Show-and-Tell: Don't forget to bring a project (completed or in-progress).
Lastly, don’t forget to bring your questions for “Ask the Experts”. Everyone encounters a problem at one time or another when working on a project that stops them in their tracks because they don’t know how to solve it. We block out time at every meeting where questions can be asked by you, to you, the woodworking “experts” about how to do something. Having this interactive segment of the program to get your questions answered is one of the reasons why you joined the guild, i.e., to learn.
