Cleveland County Soil and Water Conservation will be offering a conservation science series for Cleveland County homeschool students in grades (K- 6). Programs are free of charge and will be held monthly from October-May at Hanna Park in Shelby from 10 to 11 am. October 8, 2024 Session
o Beginner Naturalist: An introductory session where students will get to know their instructor and each other. We will practice investigation and observation skills as we explore their outdoor classroom.
Also, during this session students will be introduced to bird watching, how to use binoculars correctly and what details to look for to help identify the birds we see. We will also learn a little about the different adaptations birds have to help them survive and thrive.
Please note that a Parent/Guardian needs to be present for the entire program. The program is outside, so please be prepared for the weather.
Prior sign-up is required so that we know what materials are needed. You will need to sign up to each program in the series that you are interested in. Program will be limited to the first 20 students. We will start a wait list after that.
