About this Event
The cold months are fast approaching, and with them the threat of colds, flus, and other ickies. Thankfully, many immune supporting herbs are easy to grow, accessible, and ready to harvest for medicine making.
Fire cider is an old folk medicine with tremendous sickness fighting and immune boosting properties. It is made with a plethora of plant allies including turmeric, garlic, ginger, horseradish, and citrus.
Come join us Saturday, October 12th from 11am - 2:00 pm for an interactive winter medicine making workshop. We'll sample an immune boosting tea, take a tour of the Garden, and harvest some herbs to make our very own fire cider. We'll also explore how to harvest, divide, repot, and overwinter turmeric.
We'll meet on the patio for tea & introductions, and fire cider discussion. We will then walk & talk through the garden meeting & harvesting immune supportive herbs to add to our fire cider. We will end back on the patio to create fire cider together and explore other herbal remedies.
