On October 3 from 5–7 pm, guests are invited to visit the MHS exhibit galleries and Longfellow Garden free of charge for the First Friday Art Walk! We will also feature displays by several local artisans. MHS Museum Store will also be open.
All our exhibits will be open, including Notorious: Maine Crime in the Public Eye, 1690-1940.

Tin Type Portraits
Troy R. Bennett is a musician, journalist and tintypist from Portland. Working with the wet-plate collodion photographic process, first invented by Englishman Frederick Scott Archer 1851, Bennett produces fast, one-of-a-kind and enduring tintype images via authentic,19th century techniques.

Longfellow Garden Club
The Maine Historical Society and the Longfellow Garden Club invite you to explore our urban oasis—the garden—during the First Friday Art Walk.
