The Mercantile is proud to host Randall Woolsey - Reclaimed Metal Artist for the October art stroll. There will be several smaller scale sculpture works on display throughout the month but we do highly recommend stopping by during the October 3rd stroll to see Woolsey's large scale works both inside and outside the shop. One featured item, Pan the Ibex, is over seven feet tall!Randall Woolsey is a local artist who grew up in Farr West UT. With a background in welding and fabrication he takes skills learned from working in the trades and crafts sculptures out of metal. His materials come from reclaimed metals that he finds in scrap yards and recycling shops around the northern Utah area. His aim is to use recycled materials that have been forgotten and to use these pieces to breathe life into his works. He strives to find life and movement in his art with a drive to find a story or expression or feeling in what he creates.
