October Bird Walk + Annual Meeting

Did you know Battery Kemble was part of the Civil War Defenses of Washington! Join us for a bird walk at this National Park followed by the chapter's Annual Meeting to elect officers and to talk about continuing to build community around birds. The chapter will have light snacks available for the meeting after the walk.

REGISTRATION:

• We want as many bird lovers as possible to be able to enjoy our bird walks. So we've created FIRST TIME EVER tickets for those who've never been on a bird walk. Please don't reserve using these spaces unless it's your first bird walk, ever. Evah evah. Thanks!
• Please register each person seperately. If you are registering more than one person, please include the name, otherwise it looks duplicated on our end and one gets deleted.
• Please do not bring unregistered guests. It is unfair to your fellow birders on the waitlist and unfair to our volunteer guides.
• If you are on the Waitlist and have not received an email that a space has opened up, unfortunately we're at capacity and can't add more to our flock for this walk.

CANCELLATION: The walk will proceed in rain (best time to bird!), but will be cancelled in the event of heavy downpours or thunderstorm; cancellation will be emailed at least 2 hours before meeting time. So please check before you head out.

WHAT TO BRING / PARK INFO:

• Sunscreen / Sun Protection
• Insect Repellant
• Comfortable footwear to walk or hike. We will be walking on unpaved established and unestablished trails. If there has been rain, the trails might be muddy.
• Water and snacks
• If you have binoculars, please bring them.
• On-street parking is available. Please be mindful of the signage.
• There are no restrooms at Battery Kemble Park.

WHERE TO MEET: The parking lot at Battery Kemble is a small lot and at the bottom of a hill. Parking is available on the street if the lot is full. Please obey signage. Use the following coordinates to find the park: 38.93084, -77.09367
