The ABWA-KEEN Topeka Chapter invites you to our monthly luncheon on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at the Topeka Country Club; featuring Barry Feaker, founder and CEO of Compassion Strategies and CCT Strategies LLC.
Barry brings decades of nonprofit leadership experience to help organizations, agencies, and individuals strengthen their mission and achieve sustainable, evidence-based outcomes for vulnerable populations. From 1986 to 2022, he served as Executive Director of the Topeka Rescue Mission, where he led efforts that sheltered nearly 60,000 people, provided millions of meals, and launched numerous programs addressing homelessness, poverty, education, character development, crime reduction, and human trafficking interventions —without government funding. He spearheaded initiatives such as MAP (Mobile Access Partnership) to assist the unsheltered homeless, Operation Food Secure during the pandemic, NET-Reach, and Freedom Now USA to address Neighborhood stabilization and human trafficking interventions, while also expanding shelters, education centers, and trauma-informed care systems. A published author and recognized leader, Barry has received multiple awards, including an honorary doctorate, the Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition Lifetime Achievement Award, and national recognition from the Citygate Network. He continues to advocate for vulnerable populations through Compassion Strategies, public speaking, and hosting podcasts focused on homelessness solutions locally and nationally.
For lunch we'll have Taco Salad (beef, Cheddar, tomato, olives, avocado, sour cream & salsa)and a cookie.
Lunch reservations are $20.00 if paid by cash or check and $21.00 if paid by card. You may choose the non-lunch option for $5/$6 respectively. Payment is made at the meeting.
