The October 2024 member meeting of the Glendale Arizona Historical Society will be held on Monday October 28, 2024 at Manistee Ranch, located at 5127 W Northern Avenue, Glendale AZ 85301 beginning at 7:00 pm.Actress/writer/producer Sandy Kim will join us at our October meeting for "Making The Last Dance in Glendale". Discover how an indie short film came to be made in Glendale and the many local historic sites that are the backdrop in the film. After a short presentation, "The Last Dance" will be shown.
Sandy Kim's bio:
Sandy Kim is an actress who channels her real life experience as a former HR executive at a Fortune 500 company, current business owner and mom to portray the quintessential District attorney, Chief of Surgery or quirky mom. Dividing her time between her native NYC/NJ and Arizona, she has appeared in numerous independent films and commercials ~ including a recent commercial for Banner Health, and several feature films now streaming on VOD channels.
Sandy realized that she needed to learn to create her own content and with her family's encouragement, began writing and producing films to learn everything possible. The first film she was Executive Producer for "The Last Dance" was screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner in 2013.
In 2015, she wrote, produced and starred in Double Life, a TV show pilot. She also wrote, produced and starred in a film called "Portrait of an Addict". The first short film she directed "What actually happens" was screened at the Phoenix Comicon. She continues to act in films and commercials in LA, NYC and Arizona.

Please enter Manistee Ranch off of 51st Avenue and park in the parking lot or go through the vehicle gate and park near the house. Members are welcome to bring a guest. Non~members are also welcome to attend and learn about GAHS and historic Manistee Ranch.
