Join us from 4–8pm for an evening of art, making, and community at the Smith College Museum of Art.
From 4–7pm Drop in for hands-on art making in the Museum’s atrium! Find inspiration in SCMA's current exhibition"A City in Flux: Reflecting on Venice"and create a mask fit for a masquerade ball. Carnevale-style masks, designed by artist and SCMA Assistant Museum Educator Lilly Watson and featuring woodland creatures, will be available to embellish with glow-in-the-dark paint and collage.
5pm & 6pm Gallery Talks with Adeyemi Adebayo
"Reading the Photograph: Self, Style and Fashion" in Michel Kameni's Portraits of Independence Join UMass MFA student Adeyemi Adebayo for a closer look into the portraits of Michel Kameni. Adebayo will discuss how Kameni’s photos reflect themes like independence, fashion, and self-expression—especially within global movements of liberation and cultural exchange. As a documentary photographer, Adebayo will also explore how photography has become more accessible to everyday people, and how this comes through in Kameni’s work.
From 4–8pm Enjoy four floors of art and discover the museum after hours!
This program is presented in collaboration with The Great Northampton Haunt, a town-wide, month long series of events & activations celebrating the spirit of Halloween.
