✅ LISTEN & FEEL
We're going to play tracks from people in the group, listen to them on the big PA system, and give each other comments on what we hear.
You'll get encouragement and constructive criticism on how your track sounds, from a friendly crew who wants to help you.
And you'll get some specific suggestions for what you can change, which leads to...
✅ PLAYTIME
After the listening part is done, we can all crack open our laptops and work on our tracks together. Bring the project you're working on so you can make edits on it.
During that period we will most likely do some quick demonstrations inside Live to show solutions to common problems... depending on what pops up in people's projects.
✅ WHAT TO BRING
Bring an audio file of a Track you made, that you want feedback on. This can be on a USB Flash Drive, as a link online, or on your computer. Keep it down to 10mins duration for like one song, not a mix set or a live show.
If you plan to play your track from Ableton Live on your laptop, we'll need to use the headphones jack to put it into the system. Please setup your audio routing to use the 1/2 built-in output.
❗NOTE: When it's your turn, there is no stopping to fix anything. If you're playing your track directly from the Ableton Project, we listen first and you make edits afterwards.
‼️NOTE: This is not for performances. Please do not expect to setup keyboards, controllers or other live instruments to get feedback. We can definitely do that another time. But this time is for finished stereo mixes only. That way we make best use of the time. Thanks.
⁉️NOTE: Don't talk when your track is playing. It's natural to want to tell people about the track. You'll have time for that. But not when the music is on. And of course you wouldn't talk while other people's music is playing either... right? Right. Cool.
