Join us at the UGA Aquarium for an Ocean to Table program focused on oysters! Not only are these shellfish delicious and nutritious - they also play a vital role in maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems by providing habitat and filtering water. During this hands-on program, you’ll learn about oyster aquaculture research at the Shellfish Research Lab, see live oysters up close, and engage with experts in seafood safety and food science. You’ll even have the chance to shuck and taste local oysters, while learning about the environmental factors that influence their flavor. The program will wrap up with a cooking demonstration and tasting of a classic oyster stew. 🦪
