Rent Time in a 1000 gallon Mermaid Tank!

Designed with photographers, models, and mer-enthusists in mind, for the first time we are offering reserved tank times during Ocean Renaissance. Bring your own fins or water friendly fantasy garb for this unique photo opportunity. Guests may bring a professional photographer or have friends take pictures!

Tank time prices

• 30 minutes - $85

• 45 minutes - $120

Want more time? The tank has a rest period of 15 minutes between each participant to aid in water clarity. If you book back-to-back sessions you have the option of working through that 15 minute period at no extra charge.

Session Description:

• Custom built, 1000 gallon, acrylic tank. The tank itself is 8'x4'X4' but sits on an 18" high steal frame making the total structure 5.5' tall

• The tank will be set up, filtered, and of reasonable temperature (above 75 degrees) when you arrive.

• You may arrive up-to but not more than 10 mins before your session to prepare.

• If you arrive late your session will still end as scheduled you will not be compensated for time missed.

• One tank technician and one trained safety will be there to aid you. Coaching is available on request and is ALWAYS FREE.

• A pop-up changing tent will be provided but it's strongly encouraged that you arrive as much in costume as possible.
• The tank is inside a garage. Heaters may be added to control temperature, in which case they may be visible in the tank.
  Safety Procedures:
• No more than 3 people allowed to participate per session. (This can any combination of models and assistants.) You may have additional passive observers.
• You will be required to don and doff your tail INSIDE the tank. The water is less than 4' deep.
• The tank will be maintained with high enough chlorine levels to ensure the water is properly treated for safety. However, due to the strict health guidelines, 100% clarity is not guaranteed. The model may experience the typical burning sensation in open eyes or sinuses associated with the presence of chlorine, however levels will be kept within a safe range.
• Please use the restroom before your shoot. Any urinating in the tank will result in you session being cancelled as well as a cleaning charge and liquidated damages for sessions cancelled.
• Absolutely no glitter, wash-out/temp hair color, LEAVE-IN CONDITIONERS, oil (including oil-based body or hair products), lotion (including sunscreen), or sequins allowed in the tank. Please seal all makeup. Only water-based lubricants can be used to don tails. These restrictions will be strictly enforced for the health and safety of all participants. We reserve the right to rinse out a model's hair prior to entering the tank and to test garments for dye-bleed.
• Natural shell poses a threat to the acrylic and will be considered on a case by case basis, but may not be allowed. Please bring fabric or silicone costume pieces instead.
• Wigs are allowed but must be brushed out to remove any loose strands and 100% free of any styling products.
• You MUST agree to the digital waiver and terms and conditions when purchasing the tickets.
• All persons entering the tank shall be required to sign a waiver.
• Sessions are open to those 6yrs old and up. However, a legal guardian must accompany each minor and anyone requiring physical assistance must bring an assistant familiar with and capable of accommodating their needs.
• Anyone going in the tank must be mentally and physically comfortable in water in the costume they will be wearing and with putting their head underwater.
• Maximum 2 people in the tank at a time

What To Bring:

• Your own model, assistant, or friends

• Your own tail or go tail-less

• Your bathing suit, costume, accessories, etc.

• Your own towel and change of clothing

• Any props, backdrops, lights, or decoration

• Any snacks, food, or water, nothing will be provided on site.
