This captivating film showcases the wonder of life under the seas and exposes the realities and challenges facing our ocean as never-before-seen, from destructive fishing techniques to mass coral reef bleaching.
Yet the story is one of optimism, with Attenborough pointing to inspirational stories and solutions from around the world – including legal solutions for ocean protection – to show the potential for the ocean to recover and thrive.
Following the film, we’ll hear from West Coast's Marine Lawyers, who will share some of the legal solutions and initiatives underway here in Canada to safeguard marine life, and how you can get involved.
All ages welcome. Content warning: Some intense footage of destructive activities.
This event will be held on the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
