You are invited to the next open stage The Ocean and a Drop – Words and Music for our World - a monthly evening to celebrate and mourn our connection and disconnection through music, word and voice. This month the featured artist is a moving singer-songwriter Penny Stone, followed by a welcome to all to share poems, stories, songs or music on the local or global situation. We’ll aim to create an open stage with a world and political focus reflecting on current or historical events, for us to add a drop in the ocean. If you're interested in taking part or supporting this new initiative in any other way, please let us know.
Penny Stone is an Edinburgh based musician and activist. As well as writing songs with a strong focus on social and environmental justice, Penny leads community singing groups and workshops. Palestine is a cause particularly close to her heart, having spent time in the West Bank as a human rights observer, as well two solidarity choir tours.
The event is free but there will be a collection for All Our Relations, an organisation that supports displaced families in Gaza; https://allourrelations.co.uk/
The next Ocean and Drop session will be on Monday the 10th of November and will feature Victoria Hume.
Please share this with others who you think will be interested. We look forward to seeing you there.
