Occasionally is an anglophone reading series organized by Matthew Rana and hosted by Rönnells Antikvariat. Readings will take place on four occasions this spring: Thursday 27/2; Friday 14/3; Thursday 10/4; and Thursday 8/5.
Cassandra Troyan is a writer, poet, artist, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Design at Linnaeus University (LNU) in Sweden. They’re the author of several books of multi-genre works, wherein they explore how carcerality functions as a mechanism for control between the state, communities, and their collective forms of resistance, in, A Theory in Tears (Kenning Editions, 2016), Freedom & Prostitution (The Elephants, 2020), and Against Capture (Veer Books/Veer2, 2022). Currently they’re a doctoral researcher in the project Infrastructural rehearsals: creative responses to the green and digital transition (2024-2028), a PhD candidate at the University of Westminster in The Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) and an associated PhD researcher at Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW in Switzerland.
Anisur Rahman has authored over fifty books across various literary genres, including prose, poetry, plays, and translations into multiple languages. He has also contributed to debate articles and journalistic writing for Scandinavian and South Asian media, for instance unt.se, dn.se, bdnews24.com etc. A member of the board of the Swedish Writers’ Union and a lifetime member of Bangla Academy in Dhaka, Anisur is currently based in Sweden, working with the Centre for Literature in Uppsala. He divides his time between Uppsala and Dhaka.
