On Saturday January 17, we again welcome Hiroya Tsukamoto, an internationally acclaimed guitarist and songwriter, who fuses folk, jazz, and world music.Tickets are available on Eventbrite (link at bottom) and may be purchased at the door for $30 for adults and $25 for seniors and students. He will perform two 40-minute sets at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Scotch Plains, NJ. Built in late 19th century, the church has outstanding acoustics, perfectly complementary to Hiroya's playing. At intermission in our hall, we'll serve our usual fine complementary food and refreshments.
Come by early at 5pm, as the evening will also feature the work of some local visual artist. Details on that are to follow.
Hiroya’s instrumental abilities are indeed breathtaking and astounding, but his performances are so much more than that. He has the unique ability to engage an audience through a personable, genuine, transfixing approach. Tsukamoto plays guitar with an effortless skill, and his repertoire will have you traveling the world, as you experience new sounds though his own compositions.
Hiroya headlines concerts throughout the U.S. as well as internationally including the Blue Note in NYC, United Nations and Japanese National Television. He won 2nd place in International Finger Style Guitar Championship in 2018 and 2022.
He has played for us before, so we are well familiar with just how captivating his performances are. As others have attested:
