Raoul and The Big Time were formed in Toronto in 1998 by Ottawa raised musician and actor Raoul Bhaneja and soon after they won Maple Blues Award for Best New Artist. Semi finalists at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, they have released Big Time Blues (2000), Cold Outside (2004), You My People (2009), Blue Midnight: A Live Tribute to Little Walter (2011) and Hollywood Blvd (2014) which was subsequently nominated for a number of Maple Blues Awards.
They have performed live with or recorded with a who's who of Blues music including Bettye LaVette, Rick Holmstrom, Billy Boy Arnold, Billy Branch, Larry Taylor, Richard Innes, Curtis Salgado, Big Dave McLean, Johnny Sansone, Super Chikan, Fred Kaplan, Mark Hummel, Rusty Zinn, Franck Goldwasser, Lee Oskar, Big Joe Maher, Colin James, "Big A" Anthony Sherrod and many more.
This show in Ottawa marks the first appearance in town featuring the 8 piece band including Ottawa's own Juno nominee Alison Young!
