Oaxacan alebrijes are known for their vivid, intricate craftsmanship and whimsical designs. Renowned Oaxacan artist Agustin Cruz Prudencio began his apprenticeship at age eleven. Now considered a master of the craft, today he oversees a workshop that teaches young people in his community how to create these imaginative pieces. At The National Parks Store in Tucson, Arizona, he will show and sell his colorful woodcarvings and present artist demonstrations throughout both days.
