Welcome to the Friends of Detroit Rowing Oarsmen Ball! Join us on Saturday, Feb 01, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle. The Oarsmen Ball, our heritage event, benefits the modern Detroit Crew. The ball will be a black tie optional event featuring full access to the Dossin Museum, strolling hors d’ouevres, music, silent auction & a cash bar. The fundraiser will support Friends of Detroit Rowing’s “Share an Oar… Share the Shore” campaign. The campaign focus is to allow youth and adults alike direct water access to the Detroit River’s shoreline with the construction of a new training facility on the grounds of the existing historic Boathouse. This will be the epicenter of a hub of water sports activity for all Detroiters.
Friends of Detroit Rowing sponsors the Detroit Boat Club Crew, a nationally ranked crew, that trains thousands of all ages and abilities to row and provides athletes opportunities to compete around the globe, and helps local youth annually discover pathways to higher education.
Get ready to mingle with fellow rowing enthusiasts, meet some of Detroit's rowing olympians, and enjoy delicious food and drinks. Don't miss out on this exciting event to support Detroit's rowing community. See you there!
