OAK-TOBER Fest is an educational celebration that highlights the special relationship of plants and people (be it food, drink, dye, medicine, art, ritual and survival) and the joy of the harvest season. The day will include hands-on demonstrations, crafts, vendors and food.
- Visit the out-in-the-Garden exhibit on plants in our collection that hold special roles in the lives of people (be it food, drink, dye, medicine, etc).
- Enjoy some flavors from the Garden and goodies from our visiting food truck.
- Shop from our many unique vendors who mesh the botanical world with their arts and crafts.
- Kids can listen to story time, do some make and take crafts, and hunt for hiding pumpkins out in the Garden!
Those coming in costumes (kids, adults and dogs) will be entered into a drawing for fun prizes!
10:00 – 10:30 – Free Story time in the Great Room
11:00- 11:45 – Free Talk with Sara Calvosa Olsen – Food Sovereignty: The historical challenges to Tribal community food security and how Californians can join together to ensure a more food secure future for all, one acorn at a time.

The event takes place in our Plaza and Building and is FREE. Garden admission fees apply to those who wish to enter the Garden. RSVP here: https://www.ruthbancroftgarden.org/event/oaktoberfest/
