📍 The Plan
A visit to the community farm in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley. It is a working farm with a large variety of animals, gardens, and a visitor center.
10:00 AM: Meet / Arrival (Farm opens).
Morning Activity: Explore the farmyard and gardens. You can expect to see pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, and small animals (rabbits/guinea pigs) in the petting area.
Lunch / Coffee: Cafe Beam is located on-site.
3:00 PM: Day ends / Farm closes.
🚍 Getting There (Public Transport)
🚇 By Metro
From Sunderland: Take the Green Line (towards Airport) directly to Manors Station.
From Newcastle/Coast: You can use Manors or Byker (Yellow Line).
The Walk: Both stations are about a 10–15 minute walk from the farm.
From Manors: Walk along New Bridge Street, turn right at The Tanners Arms pub, and head down the hill (Stepney Bank).
From Byker: Walk across the bridge and head down into the valley.
🚌 By Bus
From Newcastle City Centre:
Bus 22 (from Central Station/Market St): Stops at The Tanners Arms.
Bus 12, 39, 40, 62, 63: All stop on New Bridge Street (near The Tanners Arms).
Yellow Q3 (Quaylink): Drops you slightly closer at the bottom of the hill (Lime Street stop).
From Sunderland:
The Metro is your easiest option. If taking a bus (e.g., Service 56), travel to Newcastle City Centre first, then swap to a local bus or walk (approx. 20 mins from city centre).

Cafe Beam (run in partnership with Smile for Life Charity) serves food and drinks, but please note the strict kitchen times:
2:00 PM: LAST FOOD ORDERS. The kitchen stops serving food at this time.
Advice: It is highly recommended to order lunch well before 2:00 PM to avoid disappointment.

Entry Cost: Admission is free, but donations (cash or card) are strongly encouraged.
Accessibility: The farm is generally accessible for buggies and wheelchairs.
Location Note: Look for the farm tucked under the large road/rail bridges near the Ouseburn river
