O Gaanewali is an interactive baithak celebrating the forms Thumri, Dadra, folk origin forms like Hori, Jhoola, Sawan, Kajari and Ghazal, popularised by Tawaifs and other women musicians after them. The show talks about the lives of these women artists while shedding light on their socio-political and cultural circumstances during the time of the British Raj and the Indian Independence Movement.
