ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Dr Rebecca Rice ('FLORA') is Senior Curator Art at Te Papa. She has a special interest in early botanical art, particularly the relationship between art and science. Recently, Rebecca has been working with her natural history colleagues to research Te Papa’s extensive holdings of material by artist and botanist, Nancy Adams.
Catherine Field-Dodgson ('Groundwork') is the author of a 2003 Master’s thesis that included the first detailed study of Emily Harris’s exhibiting practices. She is currently researching her great-great-grandmother Keita Halbert/Wyllie/Gannon and her connections to Tūranganui-a-Kiwa.
