天雨粟, 鬼夜哭 (Dusk Mouth Performance)The sky rained with millet and the ghosts wailed in the night
DUSK MOUTH 名 present an evocative performance that fuses text narration with musical experimentation, weaving together classical violin, poetry, Chinese mythology, and unconventional instruments – from the ghostly resonance of amplified water in a fishtank to the soft, percussive fall of rice grains.
Rooted in the myth of Cangjie, who, upon seeing a bird’s footprints, created the first Chinese character, causing ghosts to wail in fear of their deeds being recorded. This performance meditates on language, memory, and loss. It asks what it means to be a migrant severed from a mother tongue, caught in the quiet ache of homesickness without home, and language without language.
Free to attend, but bookings are essential.
