The NYWEA Metro Chapter presents our Fall Event - Cut Pipe, Eat Lobster, to be hosted at the Varuna Boat Club in Brooklyn, NY.
Cut Pipe!
The event includes an open competitive pipe cutting event for all members No previous training required to participate. To make this event more fun-filled and equally competitive, this year we will not be registering four-person teams to compete. We will be asking individuals to register individually for the contest. No team or company affiliation will determine the formation of the team. We will provide a small questionnaire outlining your pipe cutting experience and knowledge of Hand tools. The Operations Challenge Committee will put together four-person teams based on the results of your questionnaire.
Each person on the winning team will receive a trophy and the bragging rights as Event Champions for the next year.
A competition registration form and questionnaire will be sent to the registered participants prior to the event. Please return them by September 12, 2025 to Stephanie Sanchez at [email protected].
Please note that separate tickets for the overall and event and for the pipe cutting competition are required.

Appetizers: Boiled hot dogs - vegetarian option available
Dinner: Larry Brincat's Frogmore Stew (medley of seafood and vegetables), Steamed Lobster - vegetarian option available
Dessert: Cookies, assorted pastries, coffee & tea
Beer and soft drinks included. Cash bar available.
