We walk via the old Hill Fort at Uley Bury to the start of the first of the amazing views across the Severn estuary. We then follow the Cotswold way to the sunset spot near Coaley Peak. Sunset time is 5:49pm.
After sunset if we have clear skies in the right spot, I am also hoping that we we see the very small Crescent Moon appear, the Crescent moon will set at 8:07pm (so won't see a moonset this time, but could drive back later after food)
The New Moon is at 00:44 on the 28th Feb, so this Crescent moon will be very thin and difficult to spot.
Finishing the walk, we walk past Nympsfield Long Barrow (maybe look out for some ghosts) and then back into the village of Nympsfield.
Please bring torches for the end of the walk as it could be dark along the final road.
There's potentially the chance of cattle (sheep, cows and horses) on this walk. So, not suitable for dogs.
After the walk, if people are interested we could grab food as a group in a nearby Pub.
Disclaimer: I have no first aid training so you take this walk at your own risk.
