NYE Silent (((Sober))) Disco Party

CHARLOTTE THRIVES invite you and your community to dance through the streets of downtown Charlotte to celebrate the New Year! All you need are your headphones, clothes you can sweat in, water to hydrate, and any friends you want to bring along!

We will also have silent disco headphones for folks who want to be completely synced with the facilitator.

We're excited to invite you to this mobile celebration of community, creativity, and the joy of movement!

Date & Time: Tuesday, December 31st

Gather Time: 10:45 PM

Start Time: 11:15 PM

Cost: $7 if you bring your own headphones, $22 for Silent Disco headphoens

Starting Location: Meet at Romare Bearden Park

What to Expect:

• 45 minutes of dancing.
• We will travel in a loop so that we will arrive where we started!
• At 10:45 PM, participants will gather in front of the Bechtler Museum, where they will receive a specially curated dance playlist. By 11:15 PM, the music will start, and we will set off on our lively parade. As we move through the streets, everyone will be synced to the same beats, creating a moving, grooving spectacle of lights, costumes, and dance. The route is designed to maximize the fun and visibility of the group, offering plenty of opportunities for onlookers to join in!

What to Bring:

• BYOH (Bring Your Own Headphones): Ensure you can tune into the DJ set - unless you buy a silent disco headphones ticket!
• Reflective and Blinking Attire (optional): For safety and visibility, we suggest participants wear reflective clothing or accessories that light up.

Safety and Inclusivity: This event is designed with safety and inclusivity in mind. The route has been selected for its pedestrian-friendly pathways, and participants are encouraged to wear visible attire. The silent disco format allows participants to enjoy the music without disturbing the surrounding neighborhoods.
