Brainchild is a band that combines the feeling of jazz & soul with the intensity of shredding guitar solos. Their growing list of original songs combined with a diverse selection of covers are a perfect blend of many styles of music. The best way to describe the sound is Brainchild. They are a band that's out to melt your face. Combining intricate melodies with jazzy chord changes and regular solos from all instruments, you never really know what to expect. Recently they have been rocking out venues across the midwest. And have had the chance to open for bands like Sublime, Marshall Tucker Band, Oteil and the Peacemakers, Bootsy Collins, Moe. As well as many of the midwest festivals. They want to party with you! And that’s what to expect from a Brainchild set!

Dexter’s musical stylings have roots in the Gospel, blues, r&b, and early jazz traditions. He is the frontman of the #1 funk band in the Midwest “Dexter O’Neal and Funkyard”.
