While obviously influenced by those icons, Mrs. Riggins has a voice and delivery all her own. Full of power, rasp and grit she can belt out one of her contemporary blues originals one minute, then deliver a tender, sultry standard the next. She does this all while making each person in her audience feel as if she is speaking directly to them. Blues Revivals are interactive and personal no matter how large the crowd. This intimacy is what makes every Blues Revival a memorable experience…not only for the audience, but for Kat as well. What is a “Blues Revival” anyway? According to Kat, it is a musical revolution that aims to awaken the masses and introduce them to the sincerity behind blues music. “It’s about the raw emotion in every note”, exclaims Kat Riggins as she attempts to describe her love of the genre. Backed by a dynamic band, Kat invokes said emotion through high energy soul shakers as well as heart breaking ballads.
The Shaelyn Band is a Florida based band capable of shifting from classic soul blues and funk to rock. They are fronted by Shaelyn (aka Shae) Mulberry, a singer and poet who can wail like Joyce Kennedy, charm like Aretha Franklin, and soliloquize like Erykah Badu. With their highly energized live show, The Shaelyn Band is poised to take on the music industry. The band formed in 2020, after drummer and music director, Tim Mulberry met lead guitar player Erik Guess in Jacksonville, Florida. The lineup quickly began to take shape by adding bass player, Curtis Harris and background vocalist, Mark Barner. The band has also recently added keyboardist, Johnny Lobo. On September 9th, 2022, The Shaelyn Band released their self titled album “The Shaelyn Band”. The album delivers an array of emotions with its various songs of experience like, “Good Time”, “Always You”, “Stay Home Love” and “Just Can’t Leave” to name a few. Listeners are able to dance their cares away, reclaim their lives and destiny, as well as receive encouragement and take a moment to simply reflect on the joys of love and life. Now with the new release of their second album, Juke Joint, The Shaelyn Band is continuing to move and groove the hearts of the music lovers with detailed lyrics, dynamic intros and smooth harmonies. The rising band is making their name grand in the blues industry and look to continue to grace large stages across the US and soon, Internationally.
