About this Event
The trio’s last performance at The Back Room in June 2024 brought the house down with a standing ovation, and they’re thrilled to return this spring for another unforgettable night of music. If you had the good fortune of attending that show or any of Tele-Master Jim Campilongo's electrifying "4tet" performances at Freight & Salvage over the past three years, then you're already familiar with Luca's "...great tone and tasty playing," (Everyone Loves Guitar podcast).
The trio has recorded two albums of original material, We’ll Get There (2019), and Ride Awhile (2023), and they’re excited to bring their unique explorations of folk, blues, jazz, and rock to new audiences.
A prominent fixture in the New York City music scene since the late '90s, electric guitarist Luca Benedetti has worked alongside such varied artists and groups as Jim Campilongo, Hermine Deurloo & Steve Gadd, Ron Carter, Chris Lightcap, Jon Cowherd, Martha Redbone, Joy Askew, Tubby, The Brooklyn Boogaloo Blowout, Jim Keller, Erik Deutsch, ULU, Zephaniah & The 18 Wheelers, and The National Reserve. New York-based jazz musician Tony Scherr plays acoustic and electric bass and guitar in a variety of line-ups. He played with Woody Herman while a teenager.
