A Turtle-tastic Tale!
Author/illustrator BEATRIZ GUTIÉRREZ HERNÁNDEZ is joining us in-store for the launch of her fascinating new picture book: !
Based on Beatriz's own experience, this nonfiction read tells the tale of a young girl and her time on the Oaxacan coast with her grandfather. Papa Grande was once a sea turtle poacher but now he spends his days and nights caring for these endangered creatures. From greeting the turtles on the beach to protecting their eggs in the carefully constructed hatchery, there's always something to do to help these keep turtles fight against looming extinction.
It's a stunningly illustrated book with backmatter that includes a glossary, the life-cycle of the turtle, and more resources on this extremely important subject. You and your young ones will just adore this fantastic new read!
