NYC: FUR-FREE FRIDAY “WEEKEND OF ACTION. NO SALE🦊- NO K*ll🔪”Calling on all activists to: activate on this global and traditional day (weekend) of hard hitting actions against the sale of real fur, bring public awareness, and demand fashion houses to divest from fur!
Fur-Free Friday is held on Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year to raise awareness of the atrocities inflicted on billions of fur bearing animals that are slaughtered each year for the sake of fashion.
This event is an International Fur Protest! Everyone is invited! 🐇
Fashion designers have all the money and resources in the world, but they will never have a community as dedicated to non-human animals as we do. When you take part in global actions, you will make the most of your time.
A city targeting subsidiary one weekend is annoying to our opponents, but dozens of cities around the world simultaneously rising up to demand commitment against fur for 3 days straight is enough to put them in a state of panic!
▪︎ We will encourage shoppers to: boycott fur, boycott designers, hold fur wearers accountable, protest and demand Fur-Free Policies from those shamelessly propping up the vile fur farming industry.
▪︎ We will speak up against the barbaric and hidden world of blood fashion where helpless animals are:
• bred continuously
• confined to filthy wire cages
• driven to lunacy
• trapped, necks broken, bludgeoned, shot
• gassed
• skinned alive
• anally/vaginally electrocuted and killed in Fall during pelting season for their first winter coat by using these barbaric methods of torture.
The last few years have been a huge success: Canada Goose, Prada, SAKS, Neiman’s, Moncler, and Dolce Gabbana have enacted fur policies. In 2023 we had victories Rudsak, PJAR, and in 2024 LVMH’s Celine, PATOU, Marc Jacobs and Max Mara. All thanks to YOU!
Fur-Free Friday celebrates empowerment and offers animal activists the opportunity to make a difference against a cruel industry. And as consumers, companies, and entire countries ditch fur, now is the time to join the growing movement for a fur-free future.

The History of Fur-Free Friday:
Although sporadic fur protests against department stores were carried out in the early 1980s, none employed coordinated campaigns or strategies against the cruelties of the fur industry, and, as a result, failed to create the intensity needed for successful demonstrations.
In 1985, two activist groups, Trans Species Unlimited (TSU) and the original Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade coordinated the first, non-violent civil disobedience activities protesting fur at Macy’s in New York City and in Sacramento, California. Although the protests were non-violent, there were several dozen arrests. The following year, original founder George Cave and Cres Vellucci of TSU repeated the activities on the Friday after Thanksgiving, widely known as the busiest shopping day of the year, and "Fur-Free Friday" was officially created. Fur-Free Friday provides grassroots activists with an opportunity to participate in coordinated non-violent direct-action campaigns, similar to the sit-ins of the civil rights movement, against department stores and now fashion designers selling fur.
Fur-Free Friday is one of the few nationally recognized days in the animal rights movement and involves numerous animal activist groups internationally and nationwide.
‼️Everyone is invited so join in as we all help make fur history‼️
