NY Hand Therapy Journal Club
Come join us for the next NY Hand Therapy Journal Club at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital! All Certified Hand Therapist (CHTs), Occupational Therapists (OT) and Physical Therapists (PTs) interested in hand therapy are welcomed to attend.
The Journal Club platform will facilitate discussion of current research and the implications on evidence-based clinical practice. This in-person event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow hand therapists, share knowledge, and discuss the latest research in the field.
Topic: WALANT in Hand Surgery
Guest Presenter: Amy Birnbaum, MD is a Hand and Upper Extremity Orthopedic Surgeion with special training in microsurgery. She treats a wide range of conditions from fractures to joint replacements in the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Her training includes residencies at NYU Langone and a fellowship at Harvard Brigham and Women's and Boston Children's hospitals, wth expertise in pediatric hand surgery. Dr. Birnbaum focuses on minimally invasive techniques, including WALANT, aiming for quick recovery and minimal patient discomfort.
Facilitators:
Dina Delopoulos, OTR/L, CHT, CEAS II, is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the upper extremity rehabilitation. She is supervisor of rehabilitation at the NY Hand & Wrist Center of Lenox Hill.
Ashley Satenstein, OTR, CHT, CEAS, is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist. She is the owner and director at Lang Hand Therapy, a premiere upper extremity rehabilitation practice on the UWS of Manhattan.
