About this Event
The Network for EdWork brings together leaders in education — providing them with a community to help create and sustain more inclusive and equitable schools. Guests will participate in a guided workshop exploring the application of Liberation Pedagogy in leadership and learn about two new programs, Education EnCounter and Ally Engagement.
Education EnCounter supports advanced BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) career educators and BIPOC leaders in school, district, and higher education leadership positions that are committed to work toward dismantling unjust practices and structures in educational settings. At the Leadership L[a]unch, BIPOC educators and leaders will be able to explore liberatory practices in a safe and affirming affinity space.
Ally Engagement provides learning opportunities for white leaders in school, district, and higher education who want to transform their education environments to be more antiracist, relevant, and responsive to BIPOC teachers and leaders. At the Leadership L[a]unch, white leaders will be able to embark on their journey to redefine how they can create and sustain more inclusive environments and confront oppressive systems at their institutions.
The L[a]unch will also feature a lunch and opportunity to network.
