The Healthy Expectations program consists of six (6) separate sessions. Each session will include important information and introduce you to skills to help you have a healthy pregnancy, delivery, and a happy, healthy baby.In this session we will cover foundational nutrition, nutrition needs in pregnancy for macro- and micro-nutrients, and supplements.
You will learn:
• How to identify high-quality and low-quality foods
• The benefits of good nutrition for mom and baby
• The optimal amounts of specific macro- and micro-nutrients needed during pregnancy
• How to identify quality sources of essential nutrients needed during pregnancy
• The importance of and key nutrients to consider when selecting a prenatal vitamin
During our time together, we will focus on the four pillars of health: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition. Lifestyle is how we live. It includes how we spend our time, including work, relaxation, and sleep. Exercise is how we move. It's about being physically active, which is vital for physical and mental health. Attitude is how we think. It’s about keeping our minds healthy and maintaining a positive outlook. And Nutrition is how we eat. It focuses on the body's intake of nutrients to foster optimal health.
*Class sizes are limited so pre-registration is required*
Please feel free to bring snacks or a drink. We will also have water available. You can take a food or bathroom break anytime during class.
**If you are feeling sick or unwell for any reason, please do NOT come to class for the safety of the other students. Please only attend when you are feeling 100%! Thanks for understanding!
