Dirigo Conservatory of Movement's Nutcracker Tea features a charming abbreviated performance of the classic holiday tale, performed by DCM students, including pre-professional Conservatory students, with special appearances by the Thornton Academy Dance Program, the Dance Studio of Maine, and guest artists Emily Lutts, Olivia Robbins, and Morgan Brown Sanborn.The story begins at a town ice skating pond and moves to the Stahlbaum family's holiday party, where Clara receives a magical Nutcracker. As she dreams, the Nutcracker battles the fierce Mouse Queen, and with Clara's help, they triumph over her army.
Victorious, the Nutcracker takes Clara on a journey through the Snowy Forest to the magical Land of Sweets, where they celebrate with the Sugar Plum Fairy and other whimsical characters.
This one-hour performance is perfect for families with young children.
