LAHORE AWARGI in collaboration with WAP is extremely excited to present the "Heritage Walk of Shahdara Complex", a celebration of the remarkable women of South Asia. This immersive journey unveils the art, history, and magnificent Mughal architecture of the iconic Shahdara Complex while highlighting the extraordinary legacy of Empress Nur Jahan—an architect of Lahore, the twentieth wife of Emperor Jahangir, and a woman worthy of the Mughal throne.
Through storytelling and interactive sessions, the walk sheds light on unorthodox Islamic burial traditions, the cultural significance of Mughal India, and powerful narratives of women’s empowerment through interactive sessions and poetry. Through the exploration of the city's cultural connections of Soth Asia with Central Asia, and evolution, this walk will help you connect with your cultural identity, art history and built heritage of Lahore. Moreover, we will discuss the threats facing our history and cultural identities. The walk will be elder-friendly, gender-friendly, and child-friendly (ages 5+).
