Nuit des idées Baton Rouge: Building Solidarity Across Difference
The LSU Center for French and Francophone Studies and the Louisiana Consulate General of France is excited to present our first annual Nuit des idées in Baton Rouge. Join us for an acoustic concert-conversation facilitated by Acadian musicians Gina Forsyth (the Mid-City Aces, the Bruce Daigrepont Band); guitarist Jan Boney; accordionist Donna Angelle (the Zydeco Posse); washboard/percussionist Mary Duncan; and bassist, Sam Wrobel (the 99 Playboys). The band will play Cajun and Swamp pop standards in both Louisiana French and English. Between songs, the musicians will facilitate conversation prompts on our theme of building solitary across difference, allowing audience members to engage with each other and the musicians around building community and common ground.
Doors open at 7PM.
Music & conversation starts at 7:15 and will last until 8:45PM, allowing for conversation to continue after the show.
Entry into the event is free but requires an RSVP in advance on Eventbrite to enter.
