Nubian Markets will celebrate our Grand Opening Kickoff- the long-awaited event celebrating a Black-owned market, cafe, halal butchery and community gathering space at 2565 Washington Street in Roxbury!
The Grand Opening will launch with a ribbon cutting at 12pm on May 17th, then extend into a five day celebration through the weekend! Get ready to try free samples from the cafe, meet local and Black-owned makers with products in the grocery, and gather with the Nubian Square neighborhood, along with the Greater Boston community.
About Nubian Markets: Nubian Markets is a market, cafe, and gathering space celebrating and exploring the African diaspora through food. The market is anchored by a cafe that explores and celebrates flavors of the African diaspora, with bites ranging from crispy injera and pomegranate berber chicken to habanero cornbread and hoppin’ john. Adjacent is the grocery, serving the grocery needs of the Roxbury community and highlighting Black-owned products and fresh produce. And lastly, the highly anticipated halal butchery – aiming to provide a high quality butchery experience for all, including the growing Muslim community in the Boston area.
