A bit about Kinma
Kinma is a dynamic independent bush school in Gaimaragal Land offering a unique child-centred, democratic education for preschool and primary school aged children.
Kinma encourages children to become flexible thinkers and independent, self-directed learners in a non-competitive environment as a community of learners.
A core essence of Kinma is that the local bush surroundings are part of the everyday. Caring for Country and reciprocal relationships are integral to our being. Many learning opportunities are rooted in the natural environment. Children regularly participate in outings such as bushwalks, gardening, chicken care and bush regeneration with not-for-profit community organisation Bushlink. There is a strong focus on ‘real’ experiences where children are genuinely involved in the care of our beautiful environment.
