About this Event
Do you drive a vehicle for work? The National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course (DDC-4) is a four-hour training that teaches drivers how to recognize and react to hazardous driving situations and conditions. Participants will learn collision prevention strategies and defensive driving techniques that focus on behavior, judgement, and decision making, as well as consequences of the choices they make behind the wheel, and puts defensive driving in a personal context. This is a classroom based training only.
The goals of this training are to:
- Influence and challenge participants to change their behind-the-wheel behaviors and attitudes so they will choose to drive safely, responsibly, and lawfully.
- Provide participants with new, correct, or reinforced basic knowledge, skills, and techniques to avoid collisions while driving at work, or in their personal vehicles.
- Renew awareness of roadway safety, update knowledge, skills, and techniques of defensive driving.
- Reduce the risk of vehicle collision and personal injury.
This is a classroom-based training and does not involve a simulator or hands-on driving.
