The Nritya 2025 – an exclusive dance festival organized by the Chavara Cultural Centre, Kochi, in collaboration with Swaranjali and Nritya Malancha, Delhi. The cultural centre is hosting this two-day dance festival to promote national harmony and integration. The festival's unique feature is its open conclave, which brings together nationally reputed gurus from different streams of dance, specially invited guests, and students from various dance academies around Kerala. The festival showcases a diverse range of Indian classical and folk dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Bhojpuri, Mohiniyattam, Sambalpuri, Bihu, and Kashmiri dance.
The first day features “Dance of the Weaves” by Rima Kallingal — her dance production Neythe is a tribute to Kerala's handloom heritage, a celebration of the human touch and craftsmanship in an era increasingly dominated by machines. Through dance, we honour the daily lives of weavers, their craft, and the magic that human skill, calculation, and even miscalculation bring to the creation of fabric.
The second day features “Maathangi” by Navya Nair, acclaimed actress and celebrated Bharatanatyam artiste, disciple of Smt. Priyadarsini Govind. Trained in the classical tradition, she brings to the stage the depth of bhava, the precision of nritta and the grace of abhinaya, weaving stories that connect devotion with artistry.
