Join us for an inspiring professional development workshop for NRCS conservationists and service providers at a regenerative pecan orchard!
About this Event

This workshop is a great opportunity to get on-farm experience and increase knowledge on regenerative practices for small and urban growers. You will be able to interact with your peers and learn about grower interests and concerns in a fun, interactive setting. Swift River Pecans is a beautiful orchard along the San Marcos River in Central Texas. We will examine a range of NRCS conservation practices suitable for small and urban farms including:

· Cover cropping

· Mulch & reduced mowing

· Soil moisture management

· Assessing soil health

· Johnson-Su composting

· Enhancing biodiversity with bat boxes

The workshop is free to NRCS employees. Lunch will be provided.
