Become a Certified NRA Pistol Instructor with Mining Ridge Armory in this official two-day certification course led by NRA Training Counselor Toby W. Groce.
Whether you're seeking to advance your skills, instruct responsibly, or launch a professional training business, this course provides the nationally recognized credentials to do so.
🧠 What You’ll Learn:
This two-day course includes:
Day 1: NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT)
Day 2: NRA Pistol Instructor Certification
During the course, you’ll learn:
NRA teaching methodology and course structure
Proper use of lesson plans and training aids
How to organize and run an NRA Basic Pistol Course
Evaluation techniques and student performance improvement
Instructor-level safety and marksmanship standards
Live-fire qualification and instructional role-playing exercises
🛑 IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS:
To enroll, each candidate must:
Have successfully completed the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting (Instructor Led Only version)
Possess a valid NRA Member ID (HIGHLY recommended before class)
Demonstrate safe firearm handling and complete a live-fire pre-qualification
Submit NRA-required documentation (emailed to you upon registration)
Register no later than 30 days before class start
🔻 This course requires a minimum of 4 students. If minimum enrollment is not met, the course will be rescheduled per NRA policy.
💰 Tuition:
$325 per student

🔧 Required Equipment:
Laptop (recommended)
Eye & ear protection
120–150 rounds of ammunition
Quality pistol and holster (Kydex preferred)
Extra mags, cleaning gear, and classroom supplies
Weather-appropriate range clothing
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
📆 Schedule:
Day 1: 0900–1800
Day 2: 0900–1800
(Fellowship and coffee begin at 0800 both days.)
